Intel 686

This is a class of processors comprising the sixth revision of Intel's 8086 line, referred to by the trademarks Pentium Pro, II, III and IV. Kasoft used to like to refer to each of these as 686, 786, 886, etc. but the Internet has taught us better. We really don't care, in case you haven't noticed. Pentium should have cooked its last egg a decade ago.

There probably was a 80686, but we can't be bothered to check that either. It was probably the Pentium Pro, and Allah knows what it offered over the stock standard Pentium. More cache or some such, probably. Intel loves to cache.
