Just A Caterpillar

Sources at Sony Music have revealed that the title of Mariah Carey's next album is Butterfly.

The title track will be the first single off the album, and is supposedly a R&B collaboration with Sean "Puffy" Coombs. A similar collaboration on Daydream brought us Always Be My Baby.

The album is currently being mixed, and is due to be released around late August.

The single is expected to be released next month. As with Always Be My Baby, guest rappers are likely to be the flavour of the day on the remixes.

Alluring Sounds

First cab off the rank at Mariah Carey's Crave label has been the female vocal quartet Allure.

Hot on the heels of their first single, Head Over Heels, has been the release of the groups self-titled debut album.

This song was cowritten and coproduced by Mariah. Last Chance's lyrics are also Mariah's doing, and she was also involved with Mark Rooney in arranging and producing the song.

Mariah also coproduced the track All Cried Out with Walter Afanasieff and Rooney, and had a hand in the other vocal arrangements for the album as well.

The Man In Black

Trey Lorenz, who sang with Mariah on I'll Be There, has a new track on the soundtrack for the soon to be released movie Men In Black.

Mariah appears as a background vocalist on Make You Happy, just as she did on several tracks for Lorenz's debut album.
